It’s already 10 days into May, but I still can’t believe April’s already over!  This year is going by at lightning pace, but the good news is that summer is here.  So let’s get started with this week’s events…

Monday, May 10th

Grupo Fantasma


The Latin super-band makes a FREE appearance at Waterloo, tonight at 5 pm.

David Garza


The Austin troubador plays his regular Cactus Cafe gig tonight, doors at 8:30 pm.  It’s FREE!

Metal Monday

Another FREE Monday event!  It’s taking place at Mohawk, doors at 10 pm.

Tuesday, May 11th

The Album Leaf with Sea Wolf


Check out some moody electronic tunes at The Parish tomorrow.  Doors at 8 pm, tickets are $14 and you can buy them here.

Dance To The Dark Side Vs. 2.0

Check out the ’80s “Dark Side” DJ face-off featuring DJ Czech One and DJ Adam Warped at Elysium.  Go dance yourself silly for FREE starting at 9 pm.

Alejandro Escovedo


Alejandro Escovedo’s regular Tuesday gig at the Continental Club.  Doors at 10:30 pm.

Wednesday, May 12th

Represent Austin’s Funkin’ Hump Days featuring: The Bruce James Soultet


Represent Austin’s ongoing series at Antone’s.  Doors at 7 pm, cover is $5 and Lone Star Tallboys only $2!

The Rumble in Austin: Woven Bones, Jacuzzi Boys, OBN IIIs


Yet another FREE event featuring the CD release of fuzzy Austin rock band Woven bands.  It’s taking place at Beerland at 10 pm.
